Old Seducing Mummers

Ciphers called out a sad remind

to the slowly deeming mind.

Alas, how blunted grows the divined;

The mind's pure light,

a forsaken might.

Tempered generally gray

without fitness fairway.

Now Piqued blind

and fanned by earthly winds.

Wildly feign and reduced to

measureless bane.

It ambles along

with long unmentionable

aches and pains.

White hairs bestrew

my head and mane.

My lamina anon shone

now hangs loosely franker.

Burlesque muscles

now a risqué canker.

They have mostly lampooned.

And not useful.

Evidence of cheapest untuneful

vessels rendered careful.

Compared, they dole

a visage unconquered.

Sad, it is how respite rest

stayed away all year;

From the unhappy Trojan plaintive

with deaf ears.

Apprised yet cruelly spurn

the whimpered eyes.

Ahead of time,

the unpleasant warning claimed.

They purveyed not a requite

but there to remain.

First, gray hair untamed

was untimely,

Then it became unsightly.

Weakened minds opt to enter

the darkness.
