My Pants

Within the minefields of infatuation,

My favorite pants attends not my affection.

Awkwardly it does stare back at me.

So, once in a while, I’d let it be.


At times, it goes on backwards

Sometimes its insides turn outwards

It came on fitting smugly on today

But the world stared at me all day


This I’d blamed on my unseeing eyes

It is all there in dark eyes of the skies

On that bridge between land and sea

I could only see as far as eyes can see


I’d not let it go for any reason

For my joy is not for a season

I found my ship in the night

A delight in my lily-white
