Suffocating Love

Updated: Jan 11, 2021

You took my breath away

and replaced it with passion

that burned through my mind

and made me feel compassion

for people who love nobody;

for people who think

instead of acting.

It took you some time to show

your inner imperfection

that started extinguishing

my ever-burning passion;

that reminded me that loving nobody

is sometimes a great gift

from our inner freedom.

Dreams vanish in the morning

no matter how hard we try

to force them into our memories.

And our love has vanished together

with those dreams.

From passion to imperfection to nothing –

you've taken my breath away and suffocated me.
