A Just Humanity

Tomorrow could be a much worst drill

So, you jump off the couch and spill

Whatever you are quietly drinking

Existence turns to amber lights blinking

When the fear of the day to come brings no joys

You tick past the threshold of your old ploys

And with each trick you sink deeper into betrayal

To embrace void and cruel reality of frantic denial

Tell ego to give up pride’s empty dignity

And will modesty to stick up for humility

Let them live within the margins of probity

Only then are we resolved into a just humanity
